Is it possible to put on an art exhibition in a little over three months with a group of artists from another country whom you have never met before?

2022 marks the 75th Anniversary of the twinning of the cities of Oxford and Bonn and brings together artists from Bonn representing www.bbk-bonn.de and the Portable Collective who have combined to contribute to the wider celebrations by launching a new collaboration, and record our enormous thanks to St Michael’s for generously hosting it.

The times we live in seem to demand ever more urgently that we exert ourselves towards understanding, dialogue and cooperation, and we reassert art’s powerful and exciting potential in this goal. Putting this exhibition together has also highlighted the difficulties that politics, language borders and bureaucracy can place in the way of free cultural exchange between people from different nations. But we are determined to rise to this challenge together.

Exhibition opening event: Friday 17th June 18.30 – 20.00: open to the public, all welcome
